SUV and Pickup Truck Values Remained Stable Last Week

This week’s Market Insights Report shows where cars saw a greater decline last week after a handful of weeks of strong retention trends. A few car segments were close to being unchanged on the week, while four truck segments finished the week either unchanged or in positive territory. The report also gives an update on incentives activity.

  • Volume-weighted, overall car segment values decreased by just -0.20% last week. In comparison, the values had increased at an average rate of +0.05% per week during the previous two weeks.
  • Among car segments, Prestige Luxury Car and Full-Size Car values decreased the most last week.
  • Volume-weighted, overall truck segment (including pickups, SUVs, and vans) values remained nearly flat last week. In comparison, the values had decreased at an average rate of -0.06% per week during the previous two weeks.
  • Among truck segments, Compact Van values decreased the most last week.
